Levels
of Care
Saint Joseph Villa is a
seven-floor
facility providing care for Sisters of Saint Joseph and when possible,
members of the laity, clergy and other religious communities. Levels of
care are diversified according to floors.
|
|
Religious
Community Living
The fourth through seventh floors of the Villa are home for aging and
infirm Sisters of Saint Joseph. Sisters live in community and receive
care according to their needs. |
| |
Skilled
and Intermediate Care
The second and third floors of the Villa are licensed by the
Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania to provide skilled and intermediate care for sisters and
when possible,
lay persons, clergy and other religious communities. The essential
difference
between
these two levels of care is the frequency of skilled professional
intervention
required for the proper care of the resident. Saint Joseph Villa, in
conjunction
with physician orders, assigns the resident to the appropriate level of
care
at the time of admission and during the resident’s stay. |

Respite Care
The Villa is able to offer respite care for family members at times of
family need such as vacation or the illness of another member of the
family. Because of extensive admission procedures, the Villa requests a
minimum stay of two weeks. This service is limited to availability of
space at any given time. |

Comfort
Care/Hospice Care
The Villa offers Comfort Care for the terminally ill when the resident
and family choose to forego curative treatment and further
hospitalization. In addition, the Villa works with community hospice
programs for the terminally ill. The Villa also provides respite care
for hospice patients based on availability of space. |
